2K Games has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Leadership Transition Comes After Mixed Feedback
The new appointee assumes the leadership position at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's underwhelming initial reveal last autumn.
Recently, 2K president David Ismailer informed staff about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had indicated the requirement for a distinct vision.
Ismailer noted that the developers is now reimagining Project Ethos with a refreshed focus, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.
Trend of Strategic Recruitment
The news echoes a similar action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they recruited an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

Brinkman currently holds the position of executive producer and production lead at the renowned studio for Apex Legends. Brinkman previously was employed at major gaming companies in diverse production roles on the Call of Duty series, and, prior to that, had assignments at 2K and Electronic Arts.
Game Information and Vision
Project Ethos was unveiled in October 2024 in conjunction with a early access event. At the time, the developers described the title as a "free-to-play, 3rd-person action-packed experience and an innovative advancement on the category."
